About Ramakrishna “Bobby” Talluri — His Life in Motion

Ramakrishna Talluri, lovingly known as “Bobby,” lived a life grounded in discipline, kindness, and a deep passion for sport. Growing up with very limited financial means as the son of a hardworking Indian Army soldier, Bobby possessed tremendous athletic talent but was unable to pursue professional sports due to financial constraints. Despite these early challenges, he carried his love for athletics throughout his life.

As an adult, Bobby became a dedicated endurance athlete. He completed 10 marathons across different U.S. states, the Saratoga 50-mile trail ultramarathon, and a 100km cycling race in Hyderabad held in honor of India’s Independence Day. His athletic abilities extended far beyond running—he was a skilled cricket player, an enthusiastic hiker, swimmer, and rock climber, and he maintained a lifelong love for chess. He followed the accomplishments of India’s rising chess stars closely and was proud of their global success.

Among his greatest joys was raising and training his two daughters in athletics. Through years of guidance, discipline, and encouragement, he helped them become accomplished Track & Field athletes—qualifying for USATF Nationals and winning multiple Junior Olympic National Championships. He was immensely proud of their achievements and the strong, resilient young women they grew to be

Bobby was also deeply committed to helping others. He often donated to athletes in need, including providing running shoes to struggling college runners in India who were using their talent to overcome poverty. His generosity, humility, and belief in the potential of young athletes were central to who he was.

After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Bobby passed away on November 28, 2024. The BobbyStride Foundation continues his legacy by supporting youth athletes who need financial assistance to pursue their dreams—fulfilling the mission Bobby lived every day: helping others rise through sport.

Our Mission

The mission to support underprivileged athletes began in 2022, when Ramakrishna “Bobby” Talluri personally donated track spikes to runners at Gachibowli Stadium in Telangana, India. What started as a simple act of kindness became a lifelong commitment to helping young athletes overcome financial challenges and pursue their dreams.

In his memory, this Memorial Trust Fund continues his work by supporting underprivileged athletes with essential resources, including:

  • Sports equipment

  • Travel assistance

  • Training support

  • Competition opportunities
